Though, we do not have experience (we obviously did not brand any country so far), so we started by learning from the best. Together with Business Media Group, we invited Wally Olins – probably the greatest brandologist of our time, with extensive experience in nation branding – to come in Romania and share some knowledge.

The result was BrandRO, an astonishing conference about branding and nation branding (you may see the graphic concept we created for the conference here). Hopefully, this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship and we continuously try to raise the awareness of this issue among politicians, opinion leaders and professionals.
In the meantime, we are fully aware that a nation’s reputation is not a one-man show, but rather the compounded consequence of individual deeds over time. Thus, we try to bring our modest but steady contribution each and every day, both as individuals and as a company:
- We set high standards for our work, by European and worldwide benchmarks;
- We try to create modern brands, representative for a re-born nation, so that our clients will proudly stand up before their foreign counterparts or stakeholders. Whenever someone (Romanian or foreigner) gets in touch with Flanco, Astral, Europharm, Smartree, Fulga etc, he/she can get a small indication of where Romania is heading. And we have our contribution to that.
- We do not make any compromise on ethics and do not encourage any corruption deeds;
- We advocate branding and design across the borders of our professional community, by active participation in conferences, seminars and sponsorship;
Thus, we realised that we ARE already rebranding Romania, and so are many other Romanians every day, back home or elsewhere in the world. Someone will just have to put all pieces together.
